So far so good. The installation is pretty straight forward if you have some common sense and have access to YouTube. Invest on a flex head 13mm wrench. You will thank me later. Torque to 18ft/lbs and after 4 to 5 heat cycles (around 100 miles) re torque again. Be aware of your exposed coolant lines on the passenger side. Protect them from the heat since they will hang directly over the new shorties. The quality is good and only time will tell how durable this set of shorties really are. I will update in a year. I highly recommend. Great bang for your buck!
PowerGo Motorsports Shorty Headers – 7/10
Overall, I’m pretty happy with these headers, especially for around $300.
I installed them using RemFlex gaskets and ARP bolts. The passenger side was definitely the more difficult side to get started. The top bolt was a little tricky to start by hand, and once everything was in place, getting to torque spec in there was a bit of a pain. I’d rate the install about 6-7/10 difficulty.
One of the tubes also came with a dent in it. I didn’t have time to send it back because I had a time cruch with a welder at my shop and wanted to get the job done, so I decided to install it as-is. It didn’t cause any issues during installation.
The D ports could probably be smoothed up a little better, but for roughly $300, I really can’t complain too much.
Once installed, everything worked out great. No exhaust ticks, no leaks, and the truck sounds really good. The headers definitely gave it a deeper, more aggressive sound without being ridiculous.
For the price, I’d say these are a solid option if you’re willing to deal with a somewhat difficult installation. Just be prepared to fight with the passenger-side bolts. 😂
Overall: 7/10
Install difficulty: 6-7/10
Quality for the price: 7/10
Sound: 9/10
Would I buy them again? Probably.
For $300, not a bad set of headers at all.
